Sorry, I haven't really updated on dA ; v ; Again, as I've mentioned, tumblr is where I post more (still not often OTL) but I try to put complete pieces here on dA still. And I even have a twitter too (ahahah i still dunno what to do with it tho cept for complain and squee on it xD)

Anyways! I'm gonna be at more cons this summer maybe, so here's a brief overview!

ANIMETHON

Went pretty okay this year! I hear that for some people, business wasn't as good, and it was probably the new location. I mean, it was a nice place with good lighting, but I think that there was less traffic for longer periods of time because it is pretty out of the way from the rest of the con, and if not for registration being above our floor, probably would've been worse xP And also, maybe people didn't know it was there too?

My Love Stage!! poster did reeeeally well for some reason xD Maybe i should make more BL-related stuffff...
And it was funny that my Satsuki poster sold more than my Ryuuko one, as it was the opposite in Calgary. So basically Calgary: Team Ryuuko and Edmonton: Team Satsuki xP

ANIME REVOLUTION

SO I'm going to be artist alley-ing at Anime Revolution for the first time next week! My table appears to be really close to the exit (here's a pic of it using Anime Revolution's vendor layout: fc03.deviantart.net/fs70/f/201… ) I don't think I sit beside any people I know, everyone is kinda farrr ; x ; PLUS I don't have an assistant this time... OTL I really wanna get Marina Inoue's autograph too so still debating if I will leave my table or not to go see her xP

ANYWAYS I hope this con will go well, mostly coz it's my first out of province anime con, and I'll use it to gauge whether I can venture even further, plus I have more expenses I need to pay for (flight, hotels), and then I'd like to pay off school expenses for this coming autumn ; v ; AND I also just wanna have fun at AniRevo for my first time~

I'll also be hoteling by myself for the Sunday night, which will be a first for me too @ A @;;

GENERAL LIFE STUFF:

Yesterday was my first road lesson with an instructor, and ok. Before yesterday, I've only ever driven on empty parking lots (4 times), and driving from the one end of the street I live on onto our driveway (once). AND THEN SUDDENLY my driving instructor has me already out of my neighbourhood, went as far as the mall and AHHHHH I was so nervous, and I still can't believe I actually legit drove @ A @ I was desperately trying not to get ourselves killed, and made quite a bit of mistakes, like speeding, incorrect lane changes, forgetting to shoulder check.. UGH SO MANY THINGGGS and next lesson, I'm told I'll be learning to park and I'll be driving to downtown and on the highway........... T A T wish.. me.. luck....

OTAFEST

IT WAS FUN! I went with , her assistant, and my assistant/brother. We were staying in one of the campus residences that was being put up as a 'hotel' (and i was jealous how much nicer the bedrooms than my dorm's). Wondering if I'd wanna do that place again or find some place cheaper >w>;;

I did well I think, when it came to sales, I just think I need to make more things people like OTL SO YEA now i'm on a quest to figure out what else will sell that I've watched/read or will come to like if I give it a try xP It seems that Otafest's crowd likes... old stuff? Old as in 2006-10ish stuff that has their own English dubs/licenses like Ouran, Black Butler, and Hetalia xP Although, the Kill la Kills kinda did well despite them not selling much at first (and that makes me excitedddd).

Having my bro as my assistant was frustrating because he wanted to be compensated for a loooot EVEN THO he wouldn't let me leave my table whenever i wanted.. (i only went to vendors once and went around the AA just a few times). BUT THE WEIRD THING IS when I went away, he actually sold quite a bit! AM I REPULSIVE...!?!? OTL

I only did a few commissions this time, and I wish I did more! I had raised my prices and practiced getting faster toooo... oh well xP One of the commissioners was someone from my high school who actually commissioned me like several years ago when I was still a newbie in AA xP (I still feel like a newbie, so)

The other artists in the alley were so awesomeeee~~ I got a LOT of posters: 31.media.tumblr.com/564e0ae7bc… (not including 4 that I bought from naguri and minevi's table) I probably would have gotten more... but I had already spent toooo much and getting a profit was a priority for this con ; v ;

I hope that next time I can get more energy to do more things, have more fun, make more stuff, be a better saleswoman, ETC. (and maybe i won't be so awkward anymore talking to peopleeee)

ALSO I'd like to open up a Storenvy to sell my buttons and posters, but I'm not sure about shipping, packaging, etc?.. Does anyone have advice? I also wonder if anyone would even be interested in buying online from me in the first place? I just think it seems fun to try out o v o;;

About the AX thing,

okaaaay. Kind of spur of the moment, but was talking with and she convinced me to make a journal about this.
I kinda want to do AX's artist alley..... I've been told that I'm ready, though I don't feel it, but ahhh, this feeling of wanting to go won't leave me *A* Tables are totally sold out of course, and even the waitlist is too. So I'm looking for anyone who would share with me? Again, I was convinced to ask because normally I wouldn't go out and do this, BUT I'm kinda interested in doing a share and meeting other people at this new con, maybe. I know I don't have too many watchers, or even any who may find this relevant, but ahhh oh well xD

Actually, I wanted to post on the AX forum since there's an official 'table share request' thread thing, but for some reason I can't register? Like, when i go to fill out username, pw, email, etc, it asks for a security check, but there's no image with weird letters or even a box to type something out so when i go to submit it doesn't work....??? Oh wait, I think it's working now.

Anyways, the side of me that still feels that I'm not ready to AA there is also contemplating just attending the con as a patron... So if AA-ing doesn't work out this year, I HOPE TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN INSTEAD.. MAYBE.

And to possibly make that happen.... I need to earn some money! Which brings me to:
Oh gosh how I've been mentioning this forever and never getting around to making an example list, price post, etc. SO here's what I'm thinking...

I'm taking informal commissions right now.

*What this means is:
- No commish samples (edit: will update whenever I finish a sample and will post)
- No guarantee on how long it will take to finish
- More restrictions in what I'm willing to do (no specific poses)
- Simpler colouring/technique
- A more scatterbrained artist, so not much professionalism.
- Fluctuating prices (will probably be cheap at first because of above points)

AHHH so sorry these make my commissions even more unappealing but I'd rather be honest about this now than later.
So more on the above posts:
- I don't have examples for what exactly I'd be selling (my dA gallery might work as one but my style is ever fluctuating so there's no definite thing to use for when you make expectations. my tumblr art tag that I linked to at the start of this journal might be better, tho i don't have much digital stuff from recent).
- Also, the prices I'm going to determine in a minute are not going to be set in stone and will probably be changed often until I figure it out for a formal announcement. What I'm thinking is that I'll do maybe the first batch cheap (if I can even get some commissioners) because of these no guarantees on anything. And then will probably significantly up the prices when I am able to get more comfortable.
- It'll take a while to finish things because I am currently a student who's also dorming and this fact has ALREADY prevented me from other non-school related art things like more AA stuff and getting to be part of a anthology (so disappointed in myself sob sob)
