(late) Animethon ramble~ US vacay incl. PAX

ANIMETHON
Lol, I'm almost a month late >w> But yeahhh I've been away from the country since after the con and just got back yesterday so I have a lot of catching up to do!

SOOOOO from what I can remember (because I'm sure I've forgotten stuff already), Artist Alley at Animethon was the best this year for me so far~~
I was able to have more posters this year (two of which I just edited old pictures ahem ahem) which made my table look bigger xP My goal was to hopefully earn double what I got at Otafest back at May and I was able to reach it~~
Well, the feeling's definitely died down by now, but I was really happy last month xP

Anyways.. trying to remember how the weekend went....
Oh, so like always, I didn't get sleep the night before >w>;; Me, , and had like, a crunch day where we worked on making buttons and phone straps... Oh man.. it took so much longer than I thought it would xD I made a more buttons this year~~ Big improvement compared to how much stuff I had last Animethon 8D
On the Saturday morning, on the way from lostinwland's car, I hit myself with her pvc pipe which broke skin and left a bruise that lasted for weeks after... I can still faintly see it >w>;;
Anyways, thanks lostinwland for the rides and using your place as my workshop lolol.

I need to learn to set up better >w> Like, tape up the posters beforehand and then putting them onto the pipes on the day of xD My posters were kinda like bulging in places, lol. Also, my cupcake tablecloth miiiight be kinda distracting......

Err, so the AA was pretty busy this time around. Especially the Saturday morning, which I think might be because Vendor's wasn't open til a bit later after AA was >w> Apparently sales was pretty good for a lot of the other artists this year probably because the ticket system wasn't used this time and just direct money exchange. It was definitely a lot better not to have to wait in line to exchange tickets for cash xP

I only took sketch commissions this tie throughout the whole thing, even though I did bring my copics... v.v I'll need to practice more with those before I can properly do colour commishes again xP
There was one person who didn't pick up her commission on the Saturday...! I forgot to exchange contact info so I have no way of knowing how to get back to herrr. She was cosplaying as God Tier John Egbert and my commission was to draw him too. If anyone knows anything about it, please let me know.

My neighbours on both sides of me were and who had epiiic tables xD Indirectly beside them were princhi1 and lostinwland.

Was still relatively shy, but I got to meet some new people who were artists too like and ~
I have a whooole lot more art trades this time around! Would have loved to talk more with the others if I wasn't shy and awkward and stuffff. Thanks everyone for making Artist Alley funner ♥
I got to eat with with a lot of people from the con on the Saturday evening which was super fun and yummy O U O I was also only able to buy just one bl manga from the vendor's which ended up getting passed around the table at the restaurant we were at @////A////@

From what I remember, Sunday was much slower than Saturday. Too bad princhi1 had to leave early that day too D: After the day was over I was sooooo tired maaaan. Really felt like a hard day's work 8D

OKAY SO IMPORTANT MESSAGE. I dunno if anything's changed since I was away, but apparently Animethon 20 is not guaranteed to happen next year D: WHICH SUCKS. They're in deep need for staff. Over at the animthon.org site, there should be more info. Anyways, they're having a mass recruitment on Sept. 29, I believe, and I hope there are people out there who are able to dedicate themselves for the job. If I wasn't looking to be in AA again, looking for a job to earn me some heavy cash for tuition, and going to be be busy with building a portfolio and improving my art, I'd probably volunteer :/
So yeees, it's super important, please, if possible, spread the word! O A O

THE STATES
So few days after Animethon, me and the fam went to the US to visit some relatives and such and soooo. This be some random personal boring stuff about me me me so yeaaah nothing art related or whatever from this point >w>

So the major places I went to throughout the 3 weeks were Sacaramento, San Francisco, Riverside, and Seattle.
Well, skipping the more private stuff... coz no one needs to hear that >w>..
Malling and eating out was mostly what I did in Sacramento and Riverside, but yeahh. I was able to see the Golden Gate bridge in San Fran and ATTEMPTED to go to Japantown downtown v.v LOL YEAH we tried walking from Union Square and lotta freaky people on the street we were on and it was quite far so we turned back ; A ; So yeah San Fran is a reallllly pretty place, maaaan. Super foggy tho, lol.

When I think about it, we did quite a lot of stuff while we were there xD Went to a Ripley's Believe it or Not exhibit/museum thingy and there's this thing on the second floor at the gift shop that's like a balcony, and there's this button that says 'go down', so I was like, 'WHAT THE IS THIS LIKE AN ELEVATOR??' so i pressed it and the ground under my feet suddenly lowered, inclining about a few inches and scared the CRAP OUTTA ME O A O

Oh, I got to go to the Knott's Berry Farm amusement park with my fam, and rode a buncha cool rides with my bro~~ MAN the Xcelerator and the Silver Bullet were definitely the BESSSST ROLLER COASTERSSS ♥
lol, My family and I also did an old time photo, complete with costumes and everything~~ I asked to hold a gun as a prop, although I was like, a sophistical dressed lady. The photographer must've thought I was WEIRD xDDD

PAX PRIME
BLAH I forgot about other stuff that happened so I'll just skip to PAX which was kinda the last stuff we did before coming back.

OKAY so we only had tickets for the Friday and Saturday for me, my bro, and my dad. On the Friday we spent early morning lining up and gettin friggin' smooshed by all the people in the exhibitor's hall xD IT WAS CRAZY MAN. Like, I don't think I've been in a bigger crowd before a@;;

There were exhibits for a whooole lotta stuff, many of which I didn't know xP So like, there was an Assassin's Creed 3 theatre inside the hall which I went to with my dad and we even crossed the streets to go to an even bigger theatre which had an AC3 panel xP The game looks pretty cool~~ I should finish the first game and the sequels >w>

Oh there's a new Kirby game collection thingy for it's 20th anniversary and I got to play that old N64 game, crystal something, AND AUGHHH MY CHILDHOOOD. Want that game so bad when it comes out * U * After playing it, me and bro each got a both poster and kirby stress ball. WOOT. Also got a free t-shirt just for trying out a new Mario game~ Oh and I got to see the 3DS XL for the first time and play it too~ OH I didn't get a chance to touch a Wii U tho even tho there were some in the exhibitor's hall ; A ;

Sooo since there was so much lines and stuff, I didn't get to try out tooo many games xP From what I can recall, I remember trying Persona 4 Golden (WHICH i put down almost right away because I didn't wanna spoil myself as I've been playing Persona 3 Portable since before the vacation AND MAN THAT GAME'S FUN AND I CAN'T SPOIL MYSELF ANYMORE THAN I ALREADY HAVE OR I'LL DIE)
Sleeping Dogs, Hitman:______ (i forgot), the new Tomb Raider, Playstation All-Stars, Professor Layton:___ (also forgot), a new ver. of Sonic Adventure 2 (i think... whatev, i'm still gonna get it >w>)

One of my goals was to get a lotta swag which wasn't that hard xDDD So many free useful giveaways like bags and lanyards, some useless but cool, like paper hats and game codes I probably wouldn't figure out xP
Some of it was simple in that they were just handed out to me. Some were acquired after playing a game in front of one of the ppl supervising it. The most I had to do for some swag was have to play all 3 of the Square Enix games that were there, and get a stamp for playing each and then going to the main table thing to get final stamp. I wanted to be honest and actually play all the 3 games while i overheard some ppl say that they just asked the supervisors to give em all 3 stamps >x> Anyways, got a cool Square Enix lanyard, a Hitman mousepad, and an awesome Final Fantasy poster~

Oh yeah, so the first part of the Friday was the three of us, which then my bro split up from and I stayed with my dad. When we all came back later to the hotel, my bro's like LOOK and he got his badge signed by all The Creatures.... O A O I WAS LIKE, DUDE UNFAAAAAIR. I insisted that I we should have stuck around with him xD
Then on Saturday, my dad didn't wanna go so basically, we wasted one of our Saturday badges xP Coming outta the hotel my bro pointed out Video Games Awesome at the restaurant out front. So yeaaah, we split up again coz I wanted to go to the Bioware panel which was in an obscure place xP And had it's own schedule too! There was a portfolio review thing and recruitment stuff and all but DUDE I wasn't ready for any of that xD But it was still pretty cool. Not much was said or done but yeaaah, cool nonetheless xP I even saw one of the Bioware staff at the airport going home, and he took the same plane so now I know that he was definitely part of the staff in my city's division xP

One of my highlights for the trip which isn't THAT exciting but it definitely was for me at the time was when I got to take a pic with Sly, aka xXSlyFoxHoundXx on YT. I first got an autograph from Gassy who was sitting at a signing table and then worked up the courage to call out to Sly (after being SUCH A WEIRDO) and at the Machinima booth, they had this cool picture booth thingy~~ I didn't hear what Sly said about what faces to make so I make essentially the same face in all 3 pics that came out >w>;;

BUT YEAH Sly's my favourite creature so I was really happy O V O I even got to hug him twice GOSH I'M CREEPY

As for spending money at PAX I bought some artbooks at the UdonEntertainment booth which I plan to buy more from in the future~~ They have some cool stuff * V *
There's this shirt store called Sanshee and they were selling lottttta cool stuff, too bad I didn't have that much more money left xP Before I knew it I didn't have enough to buy some stuff I was gonna get for others v.v ANYWAYS, i'm gonna just say to check out the Sanshee.com store because their stuff is pretty cool~~ The girl who sold stuff to me there was really nice and even told me that they were gonna have some Persona 3 stuff coming out sooooon * q *

So, my bro was lucky and poo again coz he won this expensive pair of earphones >.> AND he was able to have a small convo with Nick from 4PP which I've known for longer AND DUDE I wanna meet Nick too ; n ;

Ah.. hands tired from typing...

UH so not much souvenirs for people.......... SORRY Y'ALL O A O I didn't buy a lotta stuff for most of the trip, just the stuff my parents bought for my while out shopping.. and yeah.. I was being pretty bratty for most of it all so yep >w>;;

ANYWAYS this could have been much longer, TRUST ME. So i'm gonna stop now lol. Excited to go to the US hopefully again one day xP And also PAX too! Need to be more a gamer to truly appreciate all the stuff it has to offer, BUT YEAH I CAN WORK ON THAT.


So about what's gonna go down for me now..
I'm gonna try to get a good-paying job and work my butt off because I want to try my hand at school again, and I can't rely on parents because I haven't told them about it and I doubt they'll be okay with the choice I wanna go with.... So yeah. I need to busy myself with earning the moola and then also building a portfolio and improving my art a whole a lot o x o
